Fianl #3 (Touring your second life landmarks)

I took my friend Chad for a tour of Antiquity Island and Body Building League Fitness Center and Spa.

Here we are taking to someone in Antiquity Island.

Walking around Antiquity Island.

Here we look at some displays of Antique Clothing.

Antiquity Island.

On Antiquity Island the support the fight against Breast Cancer.

Here we have arrived at Body Building Leauge Fitness Center and Spa.

Here we are looking at some boats that are for sale here.

The original Air Wolf helicopter.

Talking to some people in Body Building League Fitness Center and Spa.

Fianl #8

Due to Second Life not allowing me to log on (glitching out) when we did the "barn raising" project, I set out to build my own barn and document the process:

Here I am starting the process. It's not that easy and is very tough to gauge the dimensions in Second Life.

Coming along nicely. Here I am constructing the sides. I feel like there must be an easier way to do this.
Finally this is the barn that I created. During the process I thought about how hard it must have been for students to work on this project together due to the fact everyone had right on their own object. This process was difficult enough for me by myself.

Final #2b

So this is the beginning of the process.

Slowly but surely I am getting the hang of it.

I am attempting to build a replica of my nickname.

As I continue with the building, it's going smother and I am getting better at it.

Now it's coming together.

Now I am using different style objects to expedite the process.

I take some of the objects and alter their dimensions to help the over all process.

F O N T that's my nickname from college.... long story.

Completed sitting on the O.

Final #2a

Here I initially ask how to build.

Here this guys gives me an answer to how to start building.

Here I ask this women and she ignores me. This seemed to be a running theme when asking a lot of people for help building.

I ask this guy and he gives me his opinion on how to build. Not much help but at least he gives me a answer.

This guys does not know how to build.

Overall I found this to be an impossible task, at least in the sense that you are going to get any real help. I think in this kind of environment people aren't really there to teach, their there to learn too or to experiment.

Final #5 (your view of the "future" of Immersive Education)

The Future of Immersive Education.

Trying to determine the future of Immersive Education is not an easy task. Like we've spoke about in class technology is advancing at an every rapid rate. What's new today is upgraded or phased out for a newer faster model tomorrow. Virtual reality seems to be the next step in this process and Immersive Education seems to be at the forefront of it. The simulated environments that they have produced see

m to create the perfect work space for an office environment or classroom. Being able to create a virtual world where no one has to leave the confines of their home and meet in a virtual world is brilliant. In that environment having the ability to share information through multiple platforms using various pieces of software adds to it's unique dynamic.

Ten years from now I see Immersive Education perfecting this environment that I have been speaking about. Working out the kinks and really focusing on building an environment that allows for smooth transfer among all working platforms and many commonly used types of software.

With advancement in avatars and virtual reality environments, I see Immersive Education leading the way in creating a central meeting place for schools and businesses. Avatars ten years from now will be more life like and be much more an extension of us when created. Allowing schools and businesses

the ability to keep there students and workers at home will save on transportation costs to everyone involved and have the bonus effect of being good for the environment.

I see myself working in technology ten years from now as well. I'm not sure in what role, but I would like to be doing something that I feel contributes to preserving our earth. My main focus will be learning about environmentally friendly technology and “Immerse” myself in that. Specifically I am interested in green energy technology for electricity and powering of cars.

I hope that what ever it is that Immersive Education is doing in ten years, it is befitting society and contributing to the preservation of the earth.
